Smart TV: Is it over on Tuesday - or is RonDe alive in the South?
TV hits on Canadian Broadcasting and Scripps News.
I’ve purposefully tapered off my television appearances in recent years for reasons probably worth explaining in another post. (The bulk of mainstream TV news has gotten bad — and is getting frustratingly worse.)
But in the midst of a sleepless election season, the tickle to gab occasionally creeps back, especially when foreign networks come calling. (I find other countries outlets approach U.S. politics with a calmer disposition and a more enlightened perspective.)
Here I’m sharing two television appearances from this week, the first on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation or CBC News (from Tuesday AM post-caucus), and the second on Scripps News (from Wednesday AM).
And hey, they both promoted the #Substack, so god bless ‘em.

“If she doesn't get very close to him in New Hampshire or beat him outright, I think it’s very difficult for her to move down to South Carolina, where he’s still strong in her home state. Maybe it’s not over, she can maybe go on to her home state. But it’s very embarrassing to lose your home state in American politics. So in New Hampshire, if Trump can win there, the nomination is basically his.”

“I’d be surprised if you saw DeSantis continue to put all his eggs in the New Hampshire basket this week … I think that’s what his campaign is wrestling with. Does he try to get a stronger 3rd in New Hampshire and catch up to Haley and Trump, which looks like a very, very difficult task, or does he move to South Carolina, which is obviously Nikki Haley’s home state. The only advantage to South Carolina is that he’s got more time.”
