As Harris continues to flub core candidate questions, it's back to the podium.
Kamala Harris isn’t good at answering questions on the spot, this much even her most fervent fans must come to terms with. What would be her first legislative priority? How would she be different than Joe Biden? What’s a mistake that she’s made and what did she learn from it? These are not gotcha questions. In fact, they’ve been hurled at her repeatedly in recent weeks as she’s steadily stepped up her media interviews. And yet, as witnessed in the CNN town hall last night, Harris repeatedly spit out “word salad,” as David Axelrod put it, leaving observers wondering how she still looks so flummoxed describing why she’s running for president late in the fourth quarter of the campaign.
