Now calling for 2025 Washingtonian Magazine policy nominations
Here's how to submit yourself or someone else for our mag's list.
Nominations for Washingtonian Magazine’s annual list of the 500 most influential federal policy players in Washington are now ~OPEN~.
Guidelines & ground-rules >
Nominees should exemplify specific influence on a particular recent federal policy or a career tenure of deep policy influence in Washington.
Submissions should include name, employer, title, the category the influencer should be placed in and most crucially, no more than 50 words describing the nominee’s specific impact.
HERE is last year’s final list, for guidance on categories and credentials.
Inclusion on a previous year’s list *does not* guarantee placement on this year’s.
Nominees CANNOT currently hold a position INSIDE the federal government. We don’t include senators, Capitol Hill chiefs of staff or National Security Agency members. This list is meant to capture the outsiders who influence these government officials and agencies.
Candidates should reside in the DMV area to be considered.
As you browse the categories, is there someone missing in a policy silo who hasn’t been recognized for their work? Someone NEW, but overlooked? Send a nomination. We’re always looking for NEW faces.
The deadline for 2025 policy nominees: Monday, Dec. 2nd @ NOON. Lots of submissions trickle in after the New Year and many are compelling. Alas, at that point you are counting on someone else being dropped during our vetting and editing process. It happens, but your odds shrink appreciably. Move faster, it matters.
The issue will publish in late April/early May 2025 with the specific online and print publication dates to be named later.
Due to the volume of submissions and questions received, I won’t be able to respond to every query. (But yes, be sure, I’ve received your email.)
Send submissions to: davecatanese@gmail.com. Or simply reply to this email.
May the odds be ever in your favor,
Dave
