“To be very frank with you, my internal polling is my instinct.”
— Kamala Harris in Philadelphia Sunday morning
“All of them are still within the margin of error… I don't see any sign of a late break at this point.”
— David Binder, Harris pollster to Pod Save America on the state of the battlegrounds
“I don’t follow the polls, I don’t follow the pundits. I follow the energy. And this doesn’t feel like second place energy in here tonight.”
— Vivek Ramaswamy in New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday night.
“Donald Trump’s going to win. He’s going to win. I know that that’s true.”
— Tucker Carlson in New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday night.
The number of days until the election is now in single digits and Donald Trump is spending time campaigning in deep blue states, a sign of extreme confidence or an unforeseen strategic blunder driven by the whims of a singular candidate.
After spending Sunday in the world’s most famous arena in the nation’s largest city, the former president will hold rallies in Virginia and New Mexico this week, two states that haven’t chosen a Republican for president since 2004.
It has even some Trump *sycophants* questioning the scheduling …
Trump will be in Albuquerque, N.M. on Thursday and Salem, Virginia on the Saturday before Election Day.
But he fulfilled a lifelong dream on Sunday night by filling Madison Square Garden.
“I don’t know if you guys know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico,” said Hinchcliffe, whose joke was immediately flagged by Harris’ campaign as it competes with Trump to win over Puerto Rican communities in Pennsylvania and other swing states.
While some Democrats and pundits have questioned Trump’s decision to hold what they dismiss as a vanity event in his hometown, the rally guarantees Trump what he most craves: the spotlight, wall-to-wall coverage and a national audience.
The closing message he will deliver Sunday, according to his campaign, is that Harris “broke” the country and that Trump “will fix it.” Rallygoers hours beforehand waved signs with the words “Trump will fix it.”
Kamala Harris spent the day in Philadelphia, the largest city and a Democratic stronghold in must-win Pennsylvania.
Speaking at the Church of Christian Compassion on Sunday morning, Harris didn't mention Trump by name. "In this moment we do face a real question: what kind of country do we want to live in?" she said.
Harris, who held a rally with Bruce Springsteen in Atlanta on Thursday, will hold another high-profile event with a speech on Tuesday on the National Mall in Washington, where she will highlight contrasts between herself and Trump.
"He is full of grievance. He is full of dark language that is about retribution and revenge," Harris said of Trump in response to questions from reporters on Sunday in Philadelphia.
